Dr. Bannigan was born and raised in Herndon, VA. She later completed her undergraduate training at Virginia Tech where she served as the student athletic trainer for the VT women’s soccer team. During this time, she found her passion for Sports Medicine. She completed her medical school training at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (Â鶹¾«Æ·AƬÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´) – Virginia Campus and residency in Emergency Medicine at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate Health, where she served as chief resident in her final year. In 2025, Dr. Bannigan completed Â鶹¾«Æ·AƬÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´/Virginia Tech Sports Medicine Fellowship.
